Elysium, or Bust - 14 Republican Governors Mount Dead Horse on way to many Citizen Funerals

How valuable are 19,000 lives?  Ask 14 Republican Governors who are turning down funding for significant voting sectors in their states.  Is this the Elysium proposal to benefit the few?

The Rand Corporation Office of Media Relations released this on Monday, June 3, 2013, “The states studied are Alabama, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas and Wisconsin. Although governors in additional states oppose expanding Medicaid, the 14 states in the study were the first whose governors said they would not expand Medicaid. At the time of the analysis, these were seen as the least likely to expand Medicaid.”

How is it that so many intelligent people examining the same data representing the interests of the same republic, literally, making us all republican in the purest sense, respond with so different points of view on the same problem?  How do they convince others who have neither intellect nor capacity for research to volunteer to be illiterate on political matters of health of the people of state?

Is this a leadership response resulting from polling the community denied opportunity for health care coverage?  Is it for the sake of political partisan preference, doing what the backers direct?

Dr. Harry Redds, Retired Clergyman of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, lives in Oakland California.  He prophesied in the mid – 1970’s an agenda to leave all the undesirable peoples behind was developing.  After raping the Earth of everything of value, the undesirables could fight over the hull.  He announced the Quest to Elysium real.  All people of color and others with perceived deficits would be bid adieu.

The feature film the Handmaid’s Tale starring Natasha Richardson as a sex slave to the aristocracy of the religious right wing Elysium like Republic of New Gideon.  She is a fertile woman.  Aristocrats enslave her to bear the child they will claim as their own.  Afterwards, she will either find a place to serve or be bound for the nuclear waste dumps like all other undesirables, mostly people of color and any other the aristocrats do not like.

Where is Republican Policy leading the nation?  Is it Elysium, or bust? How valuable are 19,000 lives?

How 21st Century Values Turned Superman into Something Less than Super

As America goes, so goes Superman.  Superman was the perfect master image for a culture desperate for one 50 years into the20^th Century.  Superman arrives on Earth after his home world of Krypton explodes. 

He is an extra – terrestrial that just happened to look like most people in America in the 1940’s and 50’s.  He is white and able to blend.

The 20^th Century Baby Boom following the second World War would come with the late 1940’s and 50’s.  America needed a Superman to represent the values of the modern era that is ending.  Marginalized blacks, women and others challenge the status quo.  

Traditional absolutes are fading fast.  Traditional power brokers rebel when called upon to open portals of access.

Superman was the stranger from another planet whose image could stand for traditional notions of truth, justice and the American Way.  Superman’s powerful symbol inspired little boys all over America to tie towels around their necks that would fly in the breeze as they ran.   

The 20^th Century Superman was indestructible physically, emotionally and morally. Rock fragments called Kryptonite from his home world were the only things that could harm him.  He could fly over skyscrapers in one jump.  He could run faster than trains.  Bullets from crooks’ guns bounced off the man of steel’s chest.

The 20^th Century ended with America and Superman in question.  Immigrants seek to live in the land of milk and honey observing America still a land of opportunity.  Some enter the borders with the benefit of appropriate documentation.  Others get in by any means necessary.  As America goes, so goes Superman.

21^st Century Values result from a plethora of diverse cultures, classes, and religions making up the population.  Power shifted in the past 60 plus years.   The New America and the New Superman acknowledge rules have changed. 

Power still comes out of the barrel of a gun.  There so many more guns in the hands of people who do not hesitate to use them. 

The contemporary Superman is not as super as he used to be.  Just like America, he does not seem so indestructible even when there is no Kryptonite or Lex Luthor.  The contemporary Superman kills with extreme prejudice.  21^st Century values have turned Superman into something less than super.  As America goes, so goes Superman.

Four Places to Go and Things to Do to Meet New People

The instinctual desire to meet, date and mate is a global phenomenon.  Wherever people live, the biological prompt is the same.   Greeting, meeting, dating and mating are primary imperatives to the human experience.  This article shares four places (Meetups, First Fridays, Early Film Previews, and Community Celebrity Events) to go and things to do to meet new people for potential greeting, meeting, dating and mating. 

Meetup Groups

Meetup formed in New York in 2001.  Meetup is an online portal where people sharing common interests gather to meet.  Co - Founder Scott Heiferman said Meetup provides strangers the opportunity to meet.  Review Meetup’s website to find meetings of interest near you.  If you do not find one that interests you, create one that does.  Post it and provide others opportunity to meet you.  Keep your eyes and heart open.  Your Meetup may prompt a dateup.  Visit Meetup.

Questions for Men to Ask or Never Ask a Woman

      Asking questions is what people do.  We do it all the time whether not we have thought them through.  This blog post draws attention to the questions men ask or should never ask a woman.

How do you feel when you have put weeks into selecting the perfect outfit including bag, shoes, jewelry, hairstyle and makeup for a major red carpet “A” list event with after party and the first woman you see after walking in is dressed just like you?  For this response, you should not stand very close because you are now eligible for a beat down for bringing this up.

How much money do you make?  If she only smiles and says, “That is so cute”, you are getting off easy.  The next level response is, “I am sorry.  That is much too personal on a first date.  Ask me after we have been arrived five years.”  You will regret asking when she says, “After you pick up the check for dinner tonight, you may have to ask yourself if it was worth a whole month of what you earn.  I am just saying.”

Why did you break up with your last love?  This question and others like it can expose how illiterate, immature and stupid one really is by the questions asked.  Her response this time may excite you or cause you to clear your throat and maybe choke when she says, “Let’s call them and have you ask them?”

Would you like to go out with me some time?  This is the question many brave and foolish men have pondered when and how to ask.  How do you feel if she rejects you?  What do you do if she says yes?  Here are some optional responses you might hear, “Hail to the NO.”  Well at least now you know.  You still have more than 3 billion to choose to ask.  Odds are good you will get someone to go out with you.  A far more complex answer comes when she says, “Yes” as she is walking away.  When you yell, “When,” she says, “Sometime.”   Well, at least it was not rejection or was it?  Then there is the one that says yes that you regret ever asking because you can never get rid of her.

Your woman friend leans over to share a quiet whisper in your ear to tell you her cramps are killing her.  This is not the time to ask a woman, “Are you not used to that, I mean them yet?  Are you not 30 years old?  Get Ready. Get Ready.  You are about to share an intimate moment that will last for a lifetime.  You are going to wish you had just touched her hand to let her know you care and ordered her some chamomile tea and offered to massage the web space behind her ankles to help her feel loved and feel better.

Are all men created equal and endowed by the Creator?  Get ready to hear her and see her laugh loud in your face for so long she just walks away while still busting up saying, “I know this fool did not really just ask me that.”
